Cybersecurity, a question of life…

Luxembourg (Luxembourg), October 7, 2015: SMILE (securitymadein.lu) is organizing the 2nd business breakfast  in a row on October 20th as a part of the European Cyber Security Month (ECSM) entitled: “Cybersecurity, a question of life. Medical devices are full of IT: How to keep them safe?”. Talk will focus on the problem that we have vulnerable life critical devices that can easily be patched and how we can proceed to work together as a community to improve the cyber safety on these devices. SMILE is the the national promotion platform for cybersecurity, SECURITYMADEIN.LU.  The online platform is an initiative of the economic interest grouping (groupement d’intérêt économie, G.I.E.) ‘Security Made in Lëtzebuerg’ (SMILE), which was tasked in 2010 by the Luxembourg government to promote and strengthen information security in Luxembourg.

The three objectives of SMILE are:

  • Coordinate government initiatives, such as BEE SECURE (raising awareness of the general public), CASES (promotion of information security in companies) and CIRCL (post-incident coordination and action services;
  • Support and ameliorate the visibility of awareness and support campaigns of these initiatives at their respective target audience;
  • Promote the complete information security community;
  • Develop a cybersecurity ecosystem which is going to ameliorate the visibility of the agents and services of Luxembourgish information security.
