Germany’s Flixbus operating on the Slovenian market
German coach company Flixbus started operating on the Slovenian market, linking six Slovenian towns, including the capital, with 35 towns in Germany, Austria, Italy and Croatia.
Flexibus coaches will take passengers from Ljubljana, Maribor, Bled, Postojna, Koper and Portorož directly to the 35 towns abroad, which are part of the Flixbus network of 100,000 daily routes to 800 European destinations.
Up to seven journeys to Munich, Vienna, Berlin, Milan, Venice and the Croatian coast will be organised a day, while night travel will also be possible.
“Located at the heart of Europe, Slovenia excellently complements our network. Having frequent international connections, Ljubljana will thus become an important regional hub,” said CEO and the founder of the company Andre Schwämmlein.
Flixbus was founded by a group of young entrepreneurs as a startup in 2013. Building on cooperation with regional coach companies, it quickly expanded and went international last year.
Its network now includes 19 countries. The company has transported 35 passengers since its founding and some 20 millions last year alone.
