Startup of the year 2015 is LSBC member GoOpti

Ljubljana (Slovenia), September 11, 2015: The opening of the ABC Acceleration Business City in BTC City in Ljubljana, a venue for promoting new businesses and startups, was also the opportunity for bestowing the prestigious awards for best startups (CESA – Central European Startup Awards) on a national level. The award for the Slovenian startup of the year was given to GoOpti, a hi-tech platform that connects carrier companies with passengers in need of a guaranteed transport adapted to their time limits and budget.

GoOpti is now one of the finalists in the CESA Grand Finale scheduled for October 8 in Vienna, competing for the title of startup of the year 2015 in the CEE region. Its rapid growth in the last year is connected to a cloud-based SaaS platform developed by Abelium, a high-tech company researching and developing solutions in business industry.

As an intelligent passenger-to-carrier marketplace, GoOpti is expanding its services to Italy, opening hubs in Verona, Trieste and Venice in November 2015. Their aim is to offer the locals a variety of low-cost transfers to facilitate travelling and boost the occupancy of major travel routes, connecting Trieste with Trieste Airport and Venice, and Padua and Verona with Venice and Milan (including Bergamo). An expansion into Poland is planned for spring 2016.

GoOpti also collaborates with TAP Portugal and Flydubai to provide GoOpti transfers from Ljubljana main bus station to Venice Airport (and back), included in TAP airline ticket price, and connection transfers from Ljubljana (main bus station) to Zagreb Airport (and back) included in Flydubai flight tickets from Ljubljana to Dubai (and back).

On domestic grounds, GoOpti joined forces with two major public transport providers – Adria Airways and Slovenian Railways (Slovenske Železnice). Transfers to Ljubljana Airport are included in Adria Airways ticket price for flights from Trieste, Venice, Portorož, Maribor and Zagreb to Adria’s standard destinations. Similarly, Slovenian Railways offer combined road transfer + high-speed train tickets to and from several destinations in Slovenia, Italy, Austria and Czech Republic, which can be bought in SŽ Sales and Information Centers in Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje and Koper.
