Slovenian artist Miha Turšič was honoured by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the new media art festival Ars Electronica with a honorary mention for the Supre:organism project. The project by the co-founder of the Cultural Centre of European Space Technologies (KSEVT) explores artistic practices and methodologies in extraterrestrial space, KSVET wrote in a press release on Wednesday.

Slovenia signs Association Agreement with ESA

Paris: 5 July, 2016: ESA’s Director General, Johann-Dietrich Woerner, and the Slovenian Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Zdravko Počivalšek, signed the agreement in an official ceremony at ESA Headquarters in Paris. This agreement will allow direct Slovenian participation in ESA optional programmes, with Slovenian delegates attending relevant ESA subordinate bodies. Dedicated access to agency facilities and services will be provided to Slovenia’s national space projects.

Australian businessman buys stake in Kranjska gora slopes operator

Anthony Tomažin’s IT firm RRC  acquired the stake in RTC Žičnice Kranjska Gora for EUR 813,000 at the auction of the failed companies GTC Kope and Rikom. RRC already owns 60 % of Žičnice Vogel, the operator of the ski slopes overlooking the lakeside resort of Bohinj, while Tomažin’s company Terra Australis also owns several bars and restaurants in Ljubljana.
